Every stolen kiss could lead to discovery, and Ferguson’s old enemies are determined to ruin them both. But as their dangerous passion ignites their hearts and threatens their futures, how can an heiress who dreams of freedom deny the duke who demands her love?

Indulge Yourself for Only $3.99: Heiress Without A Cause (Historical Romance)

  1. Has anyone read this book or at least is familiar with the content enough to answer a question. I've read some Harlequin titles but not Desire or Blaze lines. Also Avon so mild levels of sexual content are acceptable as long as they don't take over the story. This author doesn't appear to have other books out yet so there is nothing to compare to since there also isn't a "publisher" with other books to compare with. I'm wondering about the "heat" level and how much of the storyline it encompasses. Based on her 4star RT review and RWA Golden Heart Finalist awards I know the writing is good and the blurb gives enough to intrigue me about the remainder of the plot. Just need to know whether there is enough actual story that I would want to invest $4 or not. Hoping someone can help me out.

    1. @ForstRose - I can't tell you whether to read the book or not, since I wrote it and am admittedly biased ;) But since no one else has answered yet, I'll say that the sexual content is somewhere around the 'hot' level as judged by RT - sexy, but not erotic.

There is some kissing/heavy petting and 2-3 sex scenes (I can't remember, which shows it's not my focus ;). This is definitely not erotica, though. The sex scenes themselves are steamy, but the focus of the book is on the romantic relationship and on the hero/heroine's development, not the sex.

I hope this helps! But I can't answer the question of whether to invest your money or not, since, again, I'm biased. If you do, I hope you enjoy it!

  2. Thanks Sara. I was beginning to wonder if anyone would respond. I even tried to track down a full copy of the RT review but alas my local bookstore doesn't carry the mag and non-subscribers can't access them on the web for a couple months.

2-3 sex scenes doesn't detract from the story.

I will certainly look into loading it on my Nook.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. If you'd be interested in a feature of you and the book on my blog Bibliophile's Retreat let me know. There's a contact form to email me on the blog.

  3. In fairness to us, we tracked her down for you! ;)

  4. @ForstRose - thank you so much! I'm glad the answer helped. And I appreciate the offer of being featured on Bibliophile's Retreat - I'll email you this weekend and see if this book fits what you're looking for.

And yes, thanks to @NookLovers for letting me know there was a comment to answer :)

  5. Thanks Nook Lovers I appreciate you letting her know I had a question about the book.
